Who would I be if I were to not write a blog about Mothers. I am, after all, treading in the deep waters of motherhood myself. So whether or not you are a man or a woman, whether you ARE a mother or not, I happen to know that you do HAVE a mother. Hopefully, thoughts of her bring a warm, fuzzy sensation to your heart and a smile of appreciation on your lips.

I have come to believe that mothers are some of the most written about, talked about, revered people on this earth. Just Google "Quotes about Mothers" and you will be ove...

The older I get, the more I seem to contemplate life--where I am, where I've been, how fast the weeks are flying by! I'm sure you've heard me mention before that I am currently the mother of three teenagers, which, of course, has gotten me to thinking about my own teenage years back in the 70's and 80's. I can hear you now: "Teens these days!" It's an expression we hear a lot lately, usually followed by an exhausted sigh (if it's me at 11:30 pm on a school night) or a verbal tirade (if it's an adult putting their teenage self on...

You haven't read my novels yet?

What the heck? What are you waiting for?

Are you a Parrothead? Then my Buffettessque novels, with their hidden JB lyrics, are perfect for you!

Or maybe romance is  your genre? Small town girl meets Mr. Rich and Famous--I mean, come on!

Or perhaps suspense is your thing? That works too; my novels are filled with enough testosterone to supply Lance and the entire USPS team!

Pull up your beach chair, kick off your flip-flops, and join Nichole Bocelli as she shares with you her unexpected deliverance...

With each passing year, Jimmy Buffett's Margarativille empire seems to grow faster than a Russian athlete on steroids. Not only are Mr. Buffett and his Coral Reefer band one of the most sold out concert venues in the US, Canada, and France (oui, c'est vrai), but Jimmy's savvy business dealings have earned him a lucky number 13 on the Forbes list of wealthiest celebrities. With resorts, casinos, restaurants, clothing, beer, books, blenders, flip-flops, retirement communities, and now a Broadway show to boot, this 71 year old's net...

I was raised the daughter of a flag-flying patriot--son of Italian immigrants, card-carrying Catholic, post-war peace-keeper in the Mediterranean Sea. My father was fiercely proud to be an American; he understood how privileged he was to live in this free and democratic nation, yet he also understood that we are not a nation without its faults. As a traveler of the world, he recognized that there are other governments out there offering equal opportunities (and sometimes far greater opportunities) than the United States of Americ...

I have a confession to make. This past week I went back and changed history--my history. And honestly, it was so easy to do, one stroke of the pen so to speak. After all, I'm a writer; rewriting is what I do best. And I really didn't think I'd done anything wrong; I mean, it didn't even dawn on me that maybe you're not allowed to do such a thing. It wasn't until my teenage girls called me out on it that I began to question my actions.

Let me back up a bit . . . Every year since my oldest's first Christmas, eighteen--gulp--ye...

I recently finished Kelly Corrigan's book, Glitter and Glue--a memoir which recounts her year of traveling/working in Australia as a 20-something year-old back in the early 90's. The accounts of her travels, her thoughts and feelings, and even her way of writing resonated deeply with me . . . which is not surprising, considering we're nearly the same age, and I spent a fair amount of time in my 20's roaming hither and yon. In the book, Kelly mentioned that her motto is, "Things happen when you leave the house." And as I read...

I've been thinking about launching my blog for quite some time now--

a mix of too busy and too vulnerable allowing me to store that thought into the far corners of my mind. However, putting other projects as well as self-doubt aside, as of late, I have been feeling the itch to write.

A priest once told me that I am a "heady" woman, and at first I took offense to such a label, but the more I sat with it, the more I took it as a compliment. I'm a thinker, this is true--some say I overthink things (who me?)-...
